The Health Benefits of Drinking Water
We have all been told how important it is to drink plenty of water, but did you realise quite how much of your body is made of of water?
More than two thirds of all people is water and that it is only second to oxygen in terms of importance to the human body. Yet studies show that around 80% of us have no idea that we are walking around dehydrated.
Symptoms of Dehydration
If you feel some of the following, the chances are, you need to drink more.
- dry mouth
- dry lips
- dry eyes
- dry, loose skin
- sunken features
- loss of appetite
- headaches
- light-headedness
- dizziness
- tiredness
- confusion and irritability
And lets face it, those last five are not symptoms you want in the workplace.
But the remedy is simple. Drink more fluid. And what is mother natures own source? Water.
Weight Loss & Purification
As your body filters out toxins it needs to flush them out. Otherwise, they accumulate and, over time, can cause bodily damage.
And here's how it effects weight loss: If your kidneys are water deprived, your liver picks up the slack. If the liver is doing your kidneys job, it can't do it's own as effectively. One of the liver's key function is to break down fat and, if you aren't drinking enough, it can't do that as effectively. The only thing that can happen from there is for the fat to be stored.
