What's Best and What are the Alternatives to Dedicated Hot Water Machines?
So you're thinking about a new hot water dispenser for your workplace. You might be thinking that getting a single machine that will do both hot and cold water has got to be the right solution; but you'd be wrong!
Certainly, you could argue that a single machine would save on space but with our wall mounted dedicated Hot Water Dispensers, you don't need any floor space. |

Leave the Kettle at Home!
You might also be thinking a big kettle might be the answer; or maybe a whole fleet of them. But in what other scenario would you bring standard domestic equipment into the workplace? They are just not designed to cope!
With even a staff of just 10, it is perfectly conceivable that you will go through 40 - 50 cups of hot water a day. Kettles just aren't up to that sort of usage.
Hybrid Machines
What are the practical differences? Basically, there are two:
Hot Water Capacity
A hybrid machine, or a Hot and Cold machine, never has the ability to supply hot water at the same rate as a dedicated machine. Typically, after filling a couple of cups, you end up with a luke warm drink at best. This is because of the resevoir size and the fact that the original temperature is lower than any of the Thirstpoint Hot range.
Your only option is to hover by the machine and wait for it to come up to temperature. That can't be a good use of anyone's time! So if you are in a hurry, and have a hybrid hot & cold water dispenser, you are going to have to make do with cold tea. But even if you beat the rush and get there first, it may not be the perfect cuppa you are hoping for. This is because of the temperature the hybrid machines work at. |

Hot Water Temperature
Hot & Cold Water Dispensers are a compromise. They are good in theory, but no one has ever really cracked it and made one which works really well. Typically, they dispense water which is at a temperature of just 80° centigrade, maybe up to 85°. That's hot enough to hurt, but won't make a decent cup of coffee.
In fact, some people believe that making tea with water at this temperature significantly affects the flavour.
Our dedicated, wall mounted Hot Water Dispensers provide an instant and continuous supply of water at an average of 98° centigrade. That is about as good as it gets! |
